Trade Me, banks, Facebook top net ratings

Trade Me rates as the country’s most visited web site in the past 30 days.

An HorizonPoll of 3179 New Zealanders nationwide between August 23 and 28 shows 83% have visited or used Trade Me.

Online banking comes second with 73% and Facebook third with 71%.

Among media sites Stuff (the Fairfax group) pips the NZ Herald online by 41% to 38%.

Shopping sites beat the top rating media sites with 41% being visited or used in the previous 30 days.

The survey is weighted by age, gender, personal income, employment status and party vote 2008. The maximum margin of error at a 95% confidence level is +/- 1.7%
