New Zealanders don't like the cruelty they believe is involved in producing caged eggs.
Now McDonalds is responding here and in the United States to use only cage free eggs, according to this story in Stuff.
As far back as December 2011 Horizon Research was producing results showing up to 18% could boycott five names brands of people found they were using eggs involving cruelty in production.
In September 2014 another HorizonPoll survey found 63% in favour of banning colony cages, the replacement planned for battery hen cages which a large majority regarded as cruel, despite egg producers' arguments to the contrary.
