Most Cantabrians: We'll be back to normal within a year

Cantabrians are optimistic about an early return to normality after this month's massive earthquake, an online poll shows.

Chrstchurch's The Press newspaper reports this morning that an HorizonPoll survey of 358 people has found 65 per cent believe their lives will return to normal within a year of the September 4 quake.

The sample group was weighted by age, gender, ethnicity, employment status and income.

Of those polled, 36 per cent expected a full recovery within three months, and 15 per cent within six months.

However, 3 per cent did not believe they would ever fully recover.

The Press' complete report, including comment from Mayor Bob Parker on the findings is here.

Canabrians can register here to receive later invitations to be heard in other post quake surveys.
