TSB bank rates as the most excellent

TSB bank scores the highest “excellent” rating among those who have dealings with it.

 

Some 43.6% rate their dealings with TSB as excellent.

 

Second is Kiwibank with 35%.

 

Last of seven main banks surveyed by HorizonPoll is Westpac with a 28.4% excellent rating, though it had most customers among the more of the 4010 people taking part in the nationwide survey.

 

However, less than 2% of New Zealanders rate the dealings they have with their banks as poor.

 

HorizonPoll finds 34.5% of people say their dealings with the bank they most use as excellent. Another 38.9% say it is very good and 9.7% adequate.

 

Only 1.5% overall describe their dealings with banks poor.

Business people are less satisfied than New Zealanders overall:

 

  • 7.6% fewer rate their bank dealings as excellent (26.9% to 34.5% for the total sample)

 

  • 3% rate performance as poor.

However, there overall good to very good and excellent rating is 84%.

 

Satisfaction by authority to spend

 

Those at work who make the highest value spending decisions on behalf of their organisations are the most likely to rate dealings with banks as poor.

By occupation, the group giving the highest poor result of 3.7% are business proprietors and self employed.

 

By sector, those most rating bank dealings as excellent are farm owners and managers (50.3%). Those with the lowest excellent rating are business managers and executives (24.2%).

 

Survey results are weighted by age. Gender, personal income, employment status, ethnicity and party vote 2008. The maximum margin of error at a 95% confidence level is +/- 1.5%.
